Cookies are small baked goods similar to cake. In fact cookies can be considered as small cakes as the ingredients to prepare cookies is very much similar to those for a cake except that it may contain different proportion for certain ingredients. In countries such as North America, the general term for cookies wouldbe biscuit. Unlike cakes, cookies are usually baked till crisp or just enough to give them a soft texture. Cookies may have existed since the 7th century in Persia and later on spread to most of Europe through the conquest of Spain.
